Emerald Ice: Families

What Did You Expect?

Oddly enough (oh, sure!!!) the Gatton family tends to be focused around (you did guess it, right?) the family! We have large ones, think Clyde and John, and not such large ones. Consider Mickey as an example of the latter. On the average, we have 3.67 children per family, which is really only 1.5 times the nuclear family size of 2.43 children per family. (Does anyone besides me find it odd that the average number of children in a famly just happens to be the average number of neutrons emitted by uranium fission?)

By the way, if you're tired of seeing pictures of my family adorning these pages, then get me some of yours!

Family units are easily identifiable on the Quick Links by the Family icon icon to the left of the names. The middle column is slowly being populsted with it, and that's a good thing.

Just Where Are They?

Until the late 1990s only Clyde and Gail were brave enough, or perhaps another adjective would better do, to venture far from home. Clyde was silly enough to enlist in the Navy and so got to see the world, but Gail didn't have that excuse. Just before the turn of the century, the familes started to become more mobile.

Now we sprawl over the entire country, from Terri and family practicing their hoity-toityness in the Northeast, to Gail and crew in the upper Northwest. Devin had the Southwest covered until he left the Marines to fend for themselves, and Sean is busy terrorizing the Southeast. Ginny's still holding a part of the Southwest down in Arizona, but no one seems to know if that's even a state anymore. Some feel it's just a small country with loose ties to the rest of us.

What Really Goes Here?

That's an excellent question! This space is to highlight things you have done or are going to do with your family. As mentioned elsewhere, if you have something you want to see in this section, fire off an e-mail to the webmaster listed below. He does't do anything all day long anyway. Make him work! Remember though to send him some interesting pictures along with your request. Photos make everything so much more entertaining.
